About
Christian Thomas Leitmeir (born 1974 in Donauwörth, Germany) studied at Munich and London (KCL, MMus 1999) and Tübingen (PhD 2003).
His thesis, a monograph on the Flemish composer Jacobus de Kerle, won the Dissertation Award of Tübingen University, and was published, in extended form, as a monograph (2009). Before joining the School of Music at Bangor, he held a Long-Term Frances A. Yates Research Fellowship at the Warburg Institute (London, 2003-6) and taught as external tutor at several colleges in Oxford.
He serves as co-editor to Plainsong & Medieval Music, Musik in Bayern (yearbook of the Gesellschaft für Bayerische Musikgeschichte) and as member of the editorial board of the Journal of the Alamire Foundation.
